My young friend, Ty Weaver, is a shooter and a writer. He likes to share his 35 Whelen rifle, equipped with a Bump-Buster, with other young shooters on safari in Africa. This is Ryan and the Red Hartebeest he shot with Ty's rifle. Here's what Ty says in an article he wrote in the current issue of The Lakecaster from Lake Sam Rayburn:
"Adults, here is a good tip for you: Recoil reduction plays a key role in keeping a kid's interest in shooting and also plays a major part in shooting accurately for youngsters. The less recoil, the less flinching by the shooter. No kid, including me, likes to be pounded by recoil. All the kids reading this know what I mean. The less recoil, the more fun shooting is! Ken Rucker has a recoil reduction system that he can put on most stocks. It's called the Bump-Buster Recoil Reduction System. He put this system on my 35 Whelen and I tested it in Africa. It is a must for all kids. The system works! My 35 Whelen shooting a 225 grain Barnes bullet recoils less than a 243! "
